Silicone-Modified Alkyd Resin
Silicone-modified alkyd resins are hybrid systems in which 30–60% of the alkyd polyol backbone is replaced or grafted with silicone intermediates. The silicone fraction raises the maximum service temperature from 120 °C (alkyd alone) to 200–250 °C and dramatically improves UV and weathering resistance — at substantially lower cost than pure silicone resins.
